Just a friendly heads-up:
Questions (or whatever you wanna say, even if they're not questions) can be asked in English or German. German's my native language, but I get along just fine with English too.
[CoD: MW related question ā Nikto]
What's your favorite headcanon about him and where did it come from?
That he finds his way back to his memories (all of them), overcomes his dissociative disorder, shakes off his three personalities and gets his original one back, gets to live out his revenge on Victor Zakhaev ā who's still alive in the rebooted timeline, just gone real deep underground ā and destroys him, because in my eyes that bastard really doesn't deserve to keep breathing.
Aaaand: Him splitting off from Makarov, doesn't gotta mean Nikto automatically belongs to the good guys. Also, that he starts a family with my OC. Imagine a somewhat mentally healthy Nikto with his own kids. Ahhhhhh! š„ŗ
Where's this headcanon from? From deep within me. I'm a real empathetic and sensitive person, I can't just put myself in the shoes of real people well. Victor had broken him so bad, turned him into a victim with no control over himself, that he deserves to find his way back to his real self and also find someone for life, if he wants to.
[CoD: MW related question ā Nikto]
If you could know one thing about Nikto that canon never gives you, what would it be?
That's pretty simple. How was he long before that monster Victor Zakhaev caught him and tortured him beyond recognition.
Years deep underground and his capture by Zakhaev had well and truly broken him; torture and experiments left visible marks (heaps of scars spread all over his body, many deep and very visible) and damaged his self-image so profoundly that he's worn a mask ever since and hides behind the callsign "Nikto" ā a Russian name meaning "Nobody".
The psychological destruction goes beyond fear and trauma: he suffers from an acute dissociative disorder, often speaking of himself in the plural, as if several fractured personality fragments were reacting inside him at the same time.
Nikto's got three personalities with different voices ā an ordinary one, a childishly cheerful one, and a deeper, colder, more dominant one. The third one's got control over the others. In the rare moments where his mind ain't overwhelmed, it's the one who makes the decisions itself.
But how was Nikto before Victor? What did his private life look like, if he had the time to have one? (He used to be an FSB agent and then a Spetsnaz operator, then presumably years later an operator at KorTac.)
That's what I wanna know.
Not even Nikto himself knows who he was before. Because of the deep trauma, all memories of his old life have slipped so extremely far down into his subconscious that he can't just easily access them. Old, official documents about Nikto were destroyed by Victor Zakhaev, doesn't matter if physical papers or digitally stored documents. That's sick on such a high level, I don't even have an official term left for that.
A tragic character. I'd even put him on the same level like Emet-Selch who had to suffer probably aeons long.
[CoD: MW related question ā Simon "Ghost" Riley]
Have you ever read fanfictions about Ghost and immediately had to put your phone down or whatever device you were using in that moment?
No. I don't read other people's fanfiction. Really don't like to, actually. Especially when I'm spinning stories around these characters myself right now.
Hast du eine Lieblingsfilmreihe?
Transformers und Jurassic Park, beide aber nur bis zum dritten Teil.
Big mugs or small cups?
Always depends on how much I actually feel like drinking. But I usually go for a medium-sized mug, since it hits that sweet spot in the middle.
[Resident Evil | original game lore] If Wesker allowed himself to want something purely for himself with no tactical reason behind it, what do you think it would be?
If we keep in mind that he was basically groomed as a child...
If Wesker were to actually listen inward for once and pay attention to his own wishes, the ones coming from the heart he still very much has, or once had, and if it were to dawn on him what was actually done to him, what he was put through, how his childhood got stolen from him, then he'd wanna live out that lost childhood, or at least develop the wish to turn back time, to protect the baby he once was from his kidnappers as an adult.
He was kidnapped as an infant, just like everyone from Project W. Umbrella Corporation agents systematically kidnapped small children worldwide whose parents had above-average intelligence. The kids were raised under strict psychological conditioning and injected with a prototype of the Progenitor Virus. Not all of 'em survived it. Only two kids, exactly.
There's Alex on one hand ā grew up into a woman ā later died by suicide (gunshot to the head) mutated because of the T-Phobos Virus, then got fought and taken down by Claire Redfield, Moira Burton, and Barry Burton.
And on the other hand there's Albert Wesker himself, who met his end in a volcano. š« Lore-wise speaking of course. In my headcanon he's still alive, and will be for a long time too, so no worries. š
What's something you believed as a kid that's embarrassing in hindsight?
As a kid I used to believe spinach could make you super strong. š«
What's a smell that instantly puts you in a good mood?
The smell of herb noodles and UludaÄ Gazoz.
What has changed most since you were a kid?
My mental health and my view of people. I've been dealing with depression ever since, and it's still with me today, got more and more present with every year that passed. At some point it was joined by paralysing anxiety disorders and a social phobia that cause stagnation.
I was bullied almost constantly from primary school, and it carried on into high school. Whether it was 'cause I looked "different", acted differently, was quieter, and when I did say something, didn't hold back (still the same today)... I even got bullied in primary school for developing breasts faster than the other girls.
I've become extremely cautious, reserved and mistrustful of people. It's hard to get through to me. But if someone makes the effort to understand me, they can see why I am the way I am.
I'm an incredibly tolerant person, but I don't extend tolerance to intolerance. Humanity's currently moving in a direction that's harmful to every minority.
[Resident Evil | original game lore] Is there something about Wesker that you think gets completely overlooked because people only see the villain?
I'd actually already answered that in the previous question. I reckon it gets overlooked a lot that Wesker could've turned out to be a completely different person if they hadn't made him into what he is today.
Just imagine Wesker without the zombie apocalypse as a caring father with kids. š„ŗ
