I know you said that Cy would get Dog!Isabelle after Dog!Lynn dies but I can't help but picture Cy seeing this poor little silken wolfhound being obviously mistreated by her owner, thinking "fuuuck... Okay I'll grab her and just foster her for a bit until I can find a good and proper home for her, Lily doesn't even really like other dogs so it'll motivate me to find her a different home sooner" and taking her home, and while dog!Lynn isn't thrilled with this new smaller dog she's not like, outright hostile at first and handles Dog!Isabelle in her space surprisingly well. One day Cy is forced to stay at work much longer than normal because of a freak snow storm, he's freaking out internally that Dog!Lynn surely must be overstimulated dealing with needy dog!Isabelle by herself without him there to help either of them, and then when he finally gets back he opens the door to see... Dog!Lynn curled around a sleeping dog!Isabelle on the couch in Cy's main spot like it's the most normal thing in the world, lifting her head up and looking at him like he's the one acting out of character right now. His thoughts being an equal mixture of "oh thank god they actual for real get along" and "oh god, this is gonna be a foster fail isn't it? I'm Isabelle's forever home, aren't I?"
