I havent read your stories yet, but where in your head/history did Nakota and Ryder originally come from?
Originally they came from something simple, just because I hadn't seen a character getting called a broodmare like how theres mutt, breeding bull, etc. but not a lot of broodmare terminology 😞 They became so much more afterwards, a heavy focus on grief in many forms that I have felt and experienced. I also wanted to make a story heavily on my nostalgia and wishes as a little girl, living in a dream of escape. How love felt so twisted, and a yearning to be hurt out of that "care", for my betterment. Theres a lot from both I attached my visceral, vulnerable moments and feelings to.

Is Nokota isolated from other kids, presumably because of both her autism as well as Ryder? And, how would you say that affects her? Do you think had she known other kids things would've been different?
Definitely! In modern AU, she gets diagnosed with autism which makes her all the more isolated because its the nature of the treatment people with autism receive. But in canon despite the lack of diagnoses and understanding of autism, Nokota is treated as an outcast, a lost cause, borderline "hysteric". But Ryder really nails in it, even just knowing her behaivor is uncouth in her village he feels the need to protect her more by hovering over any independence she may yearn for. Hes incredibly protective all around.
It really worsens Nokota, she is particularly social so not having that makes her really depressed at times. Even when she escapes in brief moments, she imagines to make friends with everyone and usually it results in...tragedy. I believe even if she met others and was closer to people, it would still be the same as she longed for more freedom.

Besides drawing/writing, what type of genres do you read/watch for fun or inspiration?
I love psychological horror, or lots of creepycute stuff! I normally go after atmospheric RPG maker games. 4th wall break or stories in general that stand out from the rest usually are my inspirations. But truly since day 1 I have always loved dark romance or hints of that in something. Must have balance though, I need cute, easy, but entertaining to watch or play as well.

Carry on Screaming (Ruins) by London After Midnight reminds me of how you describe Rykota after she comes back from living with Lyon.. I’m pretty sure I’ve also seen a couple of the bands songs in their playlists :3
